Church of St. Apostle in Turekovac
Church of St. Apostola is located about 5 kilometers west of Leskovac near the village of Turekovac. The church was completed in 1845 and was built on the foundations of an older place of worship in a place called "selište" near the village of Turekovac. It is the work of the famous builder from Veles, Andreja Damjanović. Built in the Serbian-Byzantine style as a three-nave basilica with a slightly narrowed high vault. In the central part of the vault there is a fresco of Savaot. It was built of stone walls one meter wide, 25 meters long, 12 meters wide and about 15 meters high. On the west side, in 1899, an open porch was built on four pillars with three polygonal domes. The walls of the church on the inside are plastered and painted, only in the central, blind dome is the figure of Pantocrator painted in fresco technique. On the outside, the walls are also plastered and whitewashed. The iconostasis, the spiral choir and the bishop's throne were carved. Icons for the iconostasis were made in 1856 by the icon painter Jovan from Samokov with his son Nikola. The icons are made with gilding with baroque elements. In the gate there is a bell tower and a boarding house from 1873, which housed the oldest school in this area. The new residence was completed in 1991, when it was consecrated by the bishop of Nis, Irinej. The church was partially rebuilt and completed in 1997, with new domes and a gallery.
